Meeting Sunny
Thursday, May 18, 2023
Today is an exciting day for me; mom, dad, and I have agreed that a “Service Dog” would likely help me get through some of the medical issues that I have been having for quite some time now.
Dad and I went to Smothers Lab located in Magnolia, Texas today to look at a litter of Labrador puppies that I could possibly choose from as my Service Dog. The owners of Smothers Labs are Robert and Beth, they were very receptive and answered all my questions regarding the litter of pups. I was very pleased and satisfied at the great place they have for the puppies to live until they find their fur-ever homes. I was excited to be able to choose from their litter of Lab pups. Robert and Beth understood that I needed to have the puppies evaluated to ensure that the pup I chose was suitable for the Service Dog training. I texted Natalia while visiting with Robert and Beth to see when she could perform the temperament test on the pups. We all agreed that this coming Sunday would be best.
As of today, there were still four puppies available at Smothers Labs from their latest litter: two females (both black), and two males (one black, and one yellow). The puppies are eight weeks old currently, they were born on March 20, 2023. Whitney is the puppy’s mama, and Jeter, from Texas Pride Labs is the Sire.
Of course, the four pups were adorable, and I fell in love with all of them, but I would have to choose the one that would best fit my needs. I already had the name ‘Sunny” picked out if it turned out that I picked a male, but I was still thinking of a name if I chose one of the females. Honestly, after seeing the four pups, I was leaning towards one of the females, but the choice would have to be made once the temperament evaluations were done by Natalia on Sunday. My excitement is building.
